- Alnwick Pipers Association
"The roots of the Society go back to the 1940s when local musicians, including the famous Northumbrian piper, Billy Pigg, began to hold regular meetings. For many years the local musicians operated as the Alnwick Branch of the Northumbrian Pipers' Society, the much larger mother organisation for Northumbrian pipers which has members all over the world. In 1977 the Alnwick Branch became a separate organisation in its own right and it continues to flourish as a small but active society". The Society has a site offering details of its activities, a useful diary, as well as information on smallpipes and Northumberland in general. http://www.alnwickpipers.co.uk (Added: Mon Mar 31 2003 Hits: 131 )
